Belgium is represented abroad by over 100 Embassies and Consulates-General. The Embassies are located in the capitals of the countries in which they exercise their jurisdiction. This jurisdiction sometimes extends to neighbouring countries which do not have a Belgian embassy.

In addition to their diplomatic tasks, our Embassies and Consulates also act as public services, in certain areas, for Belgians abroad.

As a Belgian citizen living abroad, it is always advisable to contact the Embassy or Belgian Consulate in your country before contacting FPS Foreign Affairs in Brussels.

Belgium is also represented abroad by several Honorary Consuls whose range of activities is more limited.
